Question: I hate getting old especially the effect it’s having on my skin. Answer: Due to budget limitations, and a reluctance to go under the knife, many women are turning to non-surgical ‘lifts’, in other words products that temporarily tighten and tone the skin, giving the impression of a face lift.
The product Firma Face XR is advertised on the Home Shopping Network and the manufacturer, Serious Skin Care, was co-founded by actress Jennifer Flavin-Stallone, who is also the spokeswoman for the company. While there seems to be quite a lot of media ‘buzz’ about the product, details regarding the formula and how it actually works is very limited. In fact, no ingredient lists seem to be available, although it is known that the product works using ‘time-released nano-encapsulated technology’ and is designed to be applied to clean skin, left for 3-5 minutes and then rinsed off.
Any product that promises to give the skin an instant lift, is usually comprised of extreme astringent ingredients such as Witch Haze, even alcohol. There is no doubt that applying such substances to the skin will tighten sagging, loose skin to a certain extent, but often they can leave the face feeling dry and uncomfortable.
If you do shop for an anti-wrinkle product in a health store, pharmacy or on the Internet, you’ll often find hundreds of different brands containing a confusing array of ingredients. You may be tempted to experiment with different products until you find one that works. But this approach may be expensive. More importantly, not all products contain the quality and quantity of necessary ingredients to positively promote long-term improvements on the appearance of wrinkles and an overall healthy complexion. That’s why you’ll need to do a little bit of research to find the best, most potent brand for your needs.
